GO! Bento Sushi Delivery & Takeout - Hollywood, FL

My visit to GO! Bento was an unplanned quick meal but I am glad I stopped. The only problem was that when we got there, although we were lucky and able to find parking, parking is very limited and will be an issue during busier hours and ain't nobody got time for that.

I did like the inside of the restaurant though. I thought that the decor was really cool! I liked the Japanese cartoonish artwork on the walls and the overall appeal of the restaurant. The restaurant isn't exactly suited for dining in (focus is on take-out and delivery) but there is some seating.

The menu is simple: Go! Bento, Go! Ninja, Go! Sumo or Go! Zilla. In other words a choice of entree, sushi or side depending on the box you choose to create. My friend and I both choose the Go! Zilla (1 entree and 1 roll).

She choose Honey Garlic Chicken as her entree. The chicken was a little dry, but the sauce was pretty tasty albeit a little too sweet. It came with rice that based on the the egg and some seasoning would indicate that it was fried rice, but it was very plain and all that stood out was a garlic flavor.

I had Chicken Pad Thai for my entree and I was very happy with it. The flavor was good although I doused mine with Thai chili pepper to give it that necessary spice I like. Without it, for non heat eaters, it will still be satisfying.  The chicken pieces were a nice size and relatively moist. The noodles were acceptable.

Both of our boxes came with a sushi roll. She had the Spicy Tuna Roll and I had the Japanese Bagel "JB" Roll. Go! Bento's sushi is okay at best. The fish tasted fresh which is the most important part for me, but the rice could have been better.

Ordering, I thought this was going to be a small dish but it was nicely sized for the price. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come in the cute bento box (even the take-out kind) but in regular Styrofoam containers (not that it matters). Service was pleasant and quick. The girl at the counter was extremely friendly and accommodating. I probably would try it again if I'm in the area.

BurgerFi - Weston, FL (Nationwide)

In South Florida, there is no shortage of burger places. From franchises to local stores, new burger joints keep popping up. You may have heard of one called BurgerFi (and may have already eaten there), however, I felt that it was my duty to check out for you.

I knew of the burger chain, and have seen them everywhere but while I have been away (living in New Orleans), I never knew one had opened up in my hood. I partake in burger indulging yet try to be somewhat healthy (occasionally) so Burgerfi's approach to focus on healthier, all-natural ingredients is very appealing.

Natural Angus and never frozen patties sound great but how do these creations taste? A look at the burger may have you feeling a little disappointed (it is very petite), but it is piled with topping and biting into the branded burger which is cooked well done, you will be happy to know that it doesn't lose its juiciness. All in all, a BurgerFi Cheeseburger is a nicely balanced burger, which my 9 year old niece said was the best burger she ever had.

I think it is really disrespectful to the burger to not have fries to eat it with. The Fresh Cut Fries were tasty but left something to be desired. The addition of one of their fry topping may help with that though.

We also sampled the onion rings which were a lot better. They were huge, freshly cut rings that are generously breaded with a slightly sweet batter, then deep-fried to golden brown crispness.

The Wagyu Kobe Beef Hot Dog was more than just your regular dog. You could noticeably taste the difference in quality of the meat and I'm sure the rest of the dogs are like that too.

The Milkshake was thick but not too thick. It was of good quality and consistency.

Lastly, if you are a member of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Foursquare, you can use your status to get a Free Frozen Custard. It is creamy and delicious and you can add the toppings of your choosing.

Yeah, the food is fresh and taste great but it is important to note that the burgers and hot dogs are pretty small, and the meals are a bit more expensive than one would expect, but overall, we enjoyed the offerings at BurgerFi.

Eating My Way Through the Cheesecake Factory Menu: Chicken Bellagio, Tiramisu Cheesecake

Chicken Bellagio
Crispy Coated Chicken Breast over Basil Pasta and Parmesan Cream Sauce Topped with Prosciutto and Arugula Salad.

This is the same chicken that is used in the Louisiana Chicken Pasta. The chicken is pounded so that it is very thin and coated with a light and crispy batter. Despite this process, the chicken is still very moist. The pasta was cooked well but I couldn't exactly distinguish the basil flavor. The Parmesan cream sauce wasn't heavy and gave the dish flavor without overpowering. The arugula salad that tops the dish is fresh and if you feel guilty about eating at Cheesecake Factory, it will help trick your sense into believing what you ate was somewhat healthy. Overall, it was pasta but didn't feel like too heavy of a dish, it's just that the portion is huge and if you actual succeed in eating it all, you will be stuffed.

Tiramisu Cheesecake
Wonderful Cheesecake and Tiramisu Combined into one Amazing Dessert!

I like Tiramisu and I like cheesecake, but combined I found it to be a strange and I realized that I rather enjoy them separately than together.

I Love Tacos Taqueria & More - Pembroke Pines, FL

Who doesn't love tacos? I know I do and with my love for the little Mexican treat why not go to a place called I Love Tacos. I mean, you really can't have the name I Love Tacos and not be good because that would be just plain wrong and in that case it should be called Everyone Hates Tacos but hopefully that isn't the case here!

Anyways, I was in the area so I made my way to I Love Tacos for some grub. Based on the unassuming location in the typical South Florida shopping center you may think this can't possible be all that good. Then, when you walk inside and you see the bright, colorful and cheesy decor, you may feel tempted to walk out in fear that this is going to be Mexican food of the Taco Bell variety but as soon as you see the food you fear will subsides and eventually your first bite will erase any doubt you may have had.

I Love Tacos is the name of the restaurant, so I knew if I had to try anything on the menu, it had to be tacos so I went with the Shrimp Tacos. I was thrilled with my choice. The slaw was delicious (although a little too wet) and more important, the pico de gallo and tortilla were fresh. The shrimp were unbelievably yummy with a light crunchy outer coating that added both flavor and texture.

I don't know if my friend loves tacos but after eating his Carne Asada Burrito, he left saying I Love Burritos (or at least, I still like burritos)!

The food was good, the staff was friendly from the moment we walked in the door and truthful, it is hard to find decent Mexican food this far west so if you truly do love tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas or flautas, it is worth the trip.

Café Adelaide - Central Business District - New Orleans, LA

Cafe Adelaide is located inside the Loews Hotel which means complimentary valet. So if you have a limited lunch break, time won't be wasted looking for parking. As a part of the Brennan restaurant chain and a fan of Sobou and Mr. B's Bistro, I was excited to have lunch here.

Cafe Adelaide fits the mold of a hotel restaurant. There wasn't anything standout about the space.

Our waiter was also pretty forgetful too. At some points he was quick to refill our waters yet at other times we had to ask and remind him to refill our water or bring drinks we had ordered. He would do the standard how are you doing but was quick to rush off before even receiving an answer.

The excitement about lunch at some of the Brennan restaurants are the 25 cent martinis. I think about 99 percent of the people, dining in the restaurant as the time, ordered the Commander's Martini (vodka with blue curacao) but that was my least favorite. Besides the Commander's, you also have the option of the Classic (vodka or gin), Appletini or Cosmopolitan martini. Try one or try them all but for 25 cents these drinks pack a powerful punch (hence the 3 drink limit).

My boyfriend started off his lunch with the Shrimp & Okra Gumbo. The presentation was dazzling! They present you with the bowl of rice and a cup of the gumbo on the side and poor in front of you. The gumbo has a pleasant flavor and a little bit of a bite.

I started with the Shrimp & Tasso Corndogs. Out of the entire meal, this was the dish that stuck in my mind. I was intrigued by the sweet yet spicy flavor of the 5 pepper jelly and the cheesy taste of the Crystal hot sauce butter. It was an unique, good-tasting dish but could have improved with less sauce since it overpowered.

For his main, my boyfriend order the Absinthe BBQ Cheeseburger and requested that it be cooked medium. At far as the meat goes, it was cooked per his request but as far as taste goes, he said he felt like it was missing something. For a BBQ burger, he said he really didn't taste the sauce.

I had the Smashed Blue Crab and Brie Po'boy. The sandwich was satisfying, but had too strong of a lemony flavor. The bread was buttery and crisp, more like a Panini than a po'boy. The pickled corn, tomato and zucchini salad was over pickled and half way through, I felt like I was drinking a jar of vinegar.

For dessert, we had to try the award winning White Chocolate Biscuit Pudding. I fancied the ice cream, was fond of the pudding but eating dessert should be this sinful experience and it wasn't.

After my meal, I left feeling like everything was adequate but not memorable. I think the saving grace was the 25 cent martinis but Brennans' offers that at some of their other/better restaurants.
